Persönlicher Erfahrungsbericht

BrutalerBubbatz berichtet

BB Cultivation aka BrutalerBubbatz accompanied a single Unclez 24K through 84 days of growth and 66 days of flowering. After starting in an Air-Pot, the plant was moved into a reusable 107-liter closed-loop system.

His goal was a purely organic grow with a particular focus on flavor, aroma and flower quality. According to his report, the final result was 189 grams of yield, heavily resin-coated flowers and a pronounced spicy orange profile.

At the same time, he speaks openly about initial watering problems, loose lower flowers and the insights he will carry into the next cycle.

My goal: growing organically and putting flavor first

I have been growing since partial legalization and am working step by step toward building a permanent No-Till-oriented closed-loop system.

It is particularly important to me not to use mineral salt fertilizers. I want to work with organic materials and develop a system that supplies the plant through the soil.

My focus is not exclusively on achieving the highest possible yield. For me, aroma, flavor and terpene expression are at least equally important. For this cycle, I chose Unclez 24K from 187Sweedz.

One plant for the entire area

Only one plant occupied the 120 × 60 centimeter area in this grow. The cycle began in January. The vegetative phase lasted 84 days, followed by 66 days of flowering. Harvest took place in June.

The long growth phase was necessary to prepare the plant for the available area and build a broad plant canopy.

During the vegetative phase, it was topped five times. I also used LST, SCROG, defoliation and Super Cropping. The goal was a broad, flat plant structure with as many evenly developed lateral branches as possible.

From the Air-Pot into a 107-liter system

The plant started in an Air-Pot with Floragard Professional Grow Mix Organic. As soon as the 107-liter system from the previous cycle became available again, the Unclez 24K was transplanted into the larger container.

So there were no multiple plants or pot sizes running in parallel. The same plant moved directly from the Air-Pot into the 107-liter fabric pot.

The large substrate volume provided significantly more space for the roots and greater reserves for water and organic nutrition. At the same time, I was able to continue using the existing substrate from the previous cycle.

Reconditioning the existing substrate

The substrate in the 107-liter system was reconditioned again before this grow. For this, I used CannaSelection Living Soil Base, CannaSelection Mineral Charge, worm castings from Terraverm and mycorrhiza from BioTabs.

Living Soil Base and Mineral Charge were worked into the previously used substrate. Worm castings and mycorrhiza were added according to the respective manufacturers’ specifications.

During the grow, I also used Chop-and-Drop. Suitable plant material was shredded and placed back on the soil surface. My goal is not to dispose of organic material immediately, but to reintegrate it into the substrate cycle wherever possible.

How I used the Organic Line

Living Soil Base and Mineral Charge formed the foundation for reconditioning the existing substrate.

During flowering, I used TopDress Bloom and Mineral Charge again. The applications took place in the first and third weeks of flowering according to the respective manufacturers’ recommendations.

I added MicroBio+ approximately every second watering. My personal dosage was slightly above the recommended amount.

In addition, I used a PK booster from BioTabs from the fifth week of flowering onward. I dosed it slightly below the manufacturer’s recommendation and stopped using it from the seventh week of flowering. I used MicroBio+ until the end of the cycle.

Watering with standing tap water

I used standing tap water for irrigation. Depending on the developmental phase and water requirements, the plant received approximately three to 15 liters per watering. Watering generally took place every two to three days.

I did not measure the pH or EC. The pH was not adjusted either.

The large substrate volume retained moisture well overall. Nevertheless, I repeatedly had to adapt the amount of water to the plant’s size and development.

My first problem with the Air-Pot

At the beginning of the grow, some leaves appeared leathery. In retrospect, I attributed this to my watering practices in the Air-Pot. I had not worked with this type of container before and initially gave the plant too little water.

Once I adjusted the watering, the problem subsided relatively quickly. From that point onward, the plant developed exceptionally vigorously. The stems became massive and the lateral branches grew very evenly.

I was particularly impressed by its rapid recovery after training. The plant was often stable and upright again in less than twelve hours. Throughout the rest of the cycle, it appeared very healthy and vigorous.

Long vegetative phase and intensive plant training

The 84-day vegetative period allowed me to shape the plant intensively. Topping it five times produced numerous main branches. LST and SCROG helped distribute them across the growing area.

Through defoliation, I deliberately created more light and airflow inside the plant. I used Super Cropping to position individual branches as desired and better control the plant’s height.

Super Cropping in particular was one of the most important learnings from this grow for me. The technique worked very well in my setup and will play a role in future cycles as well.

Climate during growth and flowering

During the growth phase, temperatures averaged between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was usually between 60 and 65 percent.

During the flowering phase, temperatures averaged between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius. Relative humidity was reduced to approximately 40 to 50 percent.

Under these conditions, the plant developed steadily throughout the rest of the grow.

Approximately 100 percent stretch

After switching to flowering, the Unclez 24K increased in height by approximately 100 percent. The flower sites developed evenly, and from my perspective the plant was well supplied during this phase.

From the third week of flowering onward, it responded particularly clearly to the ongoing feeding. Flower development visibly accelerated.

The plant showed a high demand during flower formation. At the same time, there were no visible deficiency symptoms or typical signs of severe overfeeding.

Strong resin production and an intense mandarin aroma

From the fourth to fifth week of flowering, trichome production increased noticeably. The plant developed a very fruity profile that strongly reminded me of mandarin and orange.

During the eighth and ninth weeks of flowering, the flowers gained considerable additional mass. At the same time, the plant’s coloration changed.

Dark violet tones developed inside the flowers and on individual parts of the plant. These were complemented by green and orange areas. Toward the end, slight towers formed on some buds, which I attributed to the genetics.

Strong rooting in both containers

Both the Air-Pot and the later 107-liter fabric pot were very heavily rooted. From my perspective, the roots utilized nearly all of the available space.

The soil structure also developed positively. The substrate remained airy and continued to receive sufficient oxygen. At the same time, it retained moisture well. The smell reminded me of fresh forest soil.

Occasionally, I saw small springtails and compost worms. To me, these observations were part of an active organic soil system.

No conventional flush before harvest

I did not flush the plant with large amounts of water. From the seventh week of flowering onward, I stopped using the PK booster. MicroBio+, however, continued to be used until the end.

Toward the end of the grow, I gradually reduced the amount of water provided. From the ninth week of flowering onward, the plant slowly began to fade. The leaves increasingly developed dark, violet and autumnal colors.

Harvest did not follow a rigid schedule. What mattered to me was the ratio of the trichomes. Once this matched my personal preferences, I ended the grow.

189 grams with clear differences in quality

According to my report, the total yield was 189 grams. Approximately the upper 40 percent of the flowers were compact and rock-hard. In the lower area, however, the buds remained noticeably looser and fluffier.

The entire yield was heavily coated in resin. Visually, the flowers developed a combination of dark violet, rich green and bright orange hairs.

I would classify the yield itself as average. I was very satisfied with the quality, however. The difference between the firm upper flowers and the looser lower areas shows me that I can further optimize light distribution, the canopy and the lower flower sites in the next cycle.

Spicy orange with clove notes

The aroma developed in a spicy orange direction. Alongside sweet and fruity notes, the profile also reminded me of cloves and ripe orange. A deeper, more powerful character remained in the background.

The flowers were dried for eight days at approximately 25 degrees Celsius and 60 percent relative humidity. This was followed by a four-week curing period in glass.

After curing, the orange profile was clearly recognizable and accompanied by spicy notes.

My most important learning: no more Air-Pots

The Air-Pot was the greatest challenge of this cycle for me. The initial watering problems arose mainly because I had no previous experience with this type of container and initially provided too little water.

For my next grows, I will therefore no longer use Air-Pots. Super Cropping, on the other hand, is a technique I have discovered for myself. The plant responded well to it, and I was able to adapt its structure precisely to the available area.

Aside from the initial watering problems, the grow proceeded almost entirely without any major difficulties for me.

My personal conclusion

I will continue working with CannaSelection 100 percent. The price-performance ratio is right and the products are very easy to use.

For me, the reward was a high-quality end product with strong resin production and a pronounced terpene profile.

I recommend the Organic Line to growers who value organic cultivation, flavor and aroma. For my goal of building a permanent closed-loop system, the concept is an excellent fit.

I want to continue developing the existing substrate and move even further toward No-Till in future cycles. I am particularly satisfied with the result of this grow because of the flower quality.

Ich werde zu 100 Prozent weiter mit CannaSelection arbeiten. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt und die Produkte lassen sich sehr einfach anwenden.

Our view of the grow
