AMS in detail

Origin & classification

The abbreviation AMS means “Anti Mold Strain” and directly refers to the breeding objective of this Greenhouse Seeds strain. The cross of Swiss Indica and Swiss Sativa was developed as a robust, mold-resistant plant. Its genetic composition is stated as 60% Indica and 40% Sativa. We therefore classify AMS as a slightly indica-dominant, photoperiodic hybrid.

Aroma & flavor

The aroma profile combines sweet notes with earth and pine. This combination gives AMS a rather classic, nature-oriented character, without fruity or dessert-like accents taking center stage. Specific terpenes are not listed. The sensory description therefore deliberately remains focused on the documented impressions of sweetness, an earthy base note and pine-like freshness.

Terpene profile

The effects combine physically calmer and more cerebrally active characteristics. Relaxation and occasional increased appetite are described, along with a positive mood, motivation, euphoria and a clear head. This combination fits the nearly balanced genetic distribution, but should not be understood as a guaranteed effect profile. Experience, dosage, phenotype and batch can significantly change the perception. THC is stated at approximately 19–20%, and CBD at 0.17%; both figures are variable measured or breeder values.

Effect tendency

AMS is considered easy to grow and can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors. Its particular strength is the described mold resistance, which makes it interesting for more humid climates. This does not imply complete immunity: air movement, plant health and humidity control remain crucial. The photoperiodic flowering period lasts approximately eight to nine weeks. Outdoors, the harvest window is stated as late September to October.

Cannabinoids, flowering & appearance

Indoor and outdoor height are both classified as tall. Yield potential is also considered high in both environments; outdoor plants are stated to produce approximately 800g per plant. Such figures depend heavily on season length, location, light, root space and care. AMS is therefore defined less by exotic aromas than by its practical breeding objective: Swiss hybrid genetics, a short to medium flowering period and robust development under more demanding humid conditions. Its effects are nevertheless not described as one-dimensional, but instead combine the calm of the Indica side with a motivating and clear-headed Sativa component.
