Origin & classification

AppleJack has an unusual preservation history. The strain was already popular in Amsterdam in 2001 when the original mother plant died, resulting in the loss of the continuous clone source. Targeted breeding work succeeded in preserving the genetics. A cross of Jack Herer and White Widow, this Seedism strain belongs to the sativa-dominant, photoperiodic hybrids.

Aroma & flavour

Both parent lines contribute to a versatile aromatic profile. Sweet and fruity notes are described, complemented by a clear skunky impression. AppleJack therefore combines a bright, approachable sweetness with a stronger, more pungent base. The mature flowers are considered particularly aromatic. Specific terpenes are not documented, which is why we do not identify individual aromatic compounds as defining characteristics.

Terpene profile

The effect is characterised primarily as strong and long-lasting. Euphoria, happiness and an uplifting progression are mentioned repeatedly; at the same time, the profile has a relaxing component. Its sativa-dominant classification therefore does not mean that energy or activity are exclusively at the forefront. Individual sensitivity, amount, batch and phenotype can significantly alter potency and balance. A THC range of 18–19% is stated. This figure should be understood as a batch-dependent guideline, not as a fixed content for every flower.

AppleJack can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors. The difficulty level is rated as medium, while the height indoors and outdoors is classified as medium-tall. As a photoperiodic strain, it begins its actual flowering phase after a corresponding change in the light cycle or natural day length. The flowering phase lasts approximately nine weeks. Outdoors, the documented harvest window falls in October.

High yield potential is cited for both environments, although no reliable gram figures are available. The actual result depends on light, climate, root space, plant training and experience. AppleJack is therefore defined less by spectacular numbers than by its combination of two well-known parents and the story of its genetic rescue.
