Nutrient

Potassium

Potassium strengthens the plant, regulates its water balance, and improves resistance and bloom quality.

What you should know

Potassium (K) is an essential macronutrient that regulates numerous physiological processes in plants. Its role in water balance, enzyme activity, and cell structure stability is particularly important.

In cannabis cultivation, potassium increases resistance to stress, diseases, and environmental factors. It also plays an important role during the flowering phase, as it influences the quality, density, and stability of the flowers.

In living soil systems, potassium is often sufficiently available, but an imbalance can arise from incorrect fertilization. Too much potassium can block the uptake of magnesium and calcium.

Why that matters

  • Regulates water balance
  • Increases stress resistance
  • Improves bloom quality
  • Supports enzyme processes
  • Strengthens cell structure

Common mistakes

  • Potassium excess → Mg blockade
  • incorrect interpretation of deficiency
  • overly aggressive fertilization
  • missing balance with Ca/Mg
