Hybrid strain

Banger

Banger combines lemony candy notes with sherbet, fuel and pine. The feminized, sativa-dominant hybrid from CHAnetics traces back to Sherbanger and Gellyz and develops frosty flowers. Its profile is described as uplifting; however, different flowering times are reported, so we do not state a fixed period as confirmed.

Editorial profile

Banger in detail

Origin & classification

Banger is based on a modern cross of Sherbanger and Gellyz. CHAnetics developed the feminized hybrid in Humboldt County in collaboration with the Cannabis Horticultural Association. The name GelBanger also appears in connection with this breeding. We list the profile under the specified name Banger and classify the strain as a sativa-dominant hybrid.

Aroma & flavour

The aroma combines pronounced sweetness with a distinctly sharper side. Lemon candy and sherbet provide the bright, dessert-like opening. Fuel and pine follow, making the profile seem drier and more powerful. This interplay between candy character, citrus freshness and more bitter notes is precisely what distinguishes Banger from strains that present as exclusively sweet or creamy. The frosty flowers are described as particularly resin-rich.

Terpene profile

Among the repeatedly described effects, an uplifting, stimulating direction takes centre stage. This fits the sativa-dominant classification but is no guarantee of a specific experience. Intensity and progression can vary with phenotype, batch, individual sensitivity and amount used. Reliable THC or CBD ranges are not available for this profile, so we do not define Banger by an ostensibly exact potency value.

Effect tendency

Some cultivation details also need to be distinguished from one another. A photoperiodic, feminized version is documented. One data set cites around 60 days or eight to nine weeks of flowering, while another description gives approximately nine to ten weeks. We therefore treat the flowering duration as guidance dependent on version and phenotype. The available information does not allow a reliable statement about yield, plant height or difficulty level.

Cannabinoids, flowering & appearance

For CannaSelection, Banger’s distinctive quality lies in the combination of clearly named genetics and a contrasting aroma: sherbet and lemon candy meet gas, pine and a frosty flower surface. Those wishing to compare profiles will therefore find more here than a simple dessert hybrid. At the same time, the limits of the documentation remain visible: the effects are described only in general terms, cannabinoid values are unavailable, and the differing flowering estimates should not be condensed into an artificially precise figure. Banger is therefore best characterised by its origin, feminized form and aroma spectrum.
