Editorial profile
Citrique in detail
Origin & classification
Citrique was developed from Lime Skunk and Orange Valley OG and selected for a particularly pronounced citrus and resin expression. We classify the strain as a sativa-dominant hybrid. Its upright, moderately stretched growth combines slenderer branches with relatively broad fan leaves. During flowering, elongated, spear-shaped colas develop, with swollen calyxes that can form a substantial, wet-looking layer of trichomes early on.
Aroma & flavour
The name fits an aroma that clearly places lime zest and orange peel at the forefront. Sour lemon, a pronounced skunky undertone and earthy gas follow. In terms of flavour, the sour opening is complemented by herbs, mint and a restrained woody note. The profile is therefore not merely fruity or sweet: its pungency arises precisely from the interplay between bright citrus peel, bitter herbal notes and the darker OG foundation.
Terpene profile
The effects are often described as having a fast, clear and mentally active onset. Focus and an energetic underlying mood accompany mild, warming physical relaxation. Pronounced immediate heaviness is not among the recurring descriptions. Perception and intensity nevertheless depend on tolerance, individual response, amount and phenotype. A possible THC range of 18 to 24 percent is documented, although its actual expression may vary between batches.
Growth tendency
Citrique reaches a medium to tall height and shows moderate stretch in early flowering. Topping and gentle low-stress training can widen the canopy and improve light penetration to lower branches. The high proportion of flower calyxes relative to leaf mass makes later processing easier. The flowering time is stated as eight to nine weeks, with potential yield rated as medium to high. Moderate nutrient feeding is more suitable than an excess of nitrogen during mid and late flowering.
Cannabinoids, flowering & appearance
Particular attention is required for moisture between the dense flower calyxes. Low humidity and consistent air movement during the final phase help keep the compact colas dry. Citrique is also described as producing abundant, greasy resin that extends across the flowers and sugar leaves. Three clearly recognisable traits therefore come together in this cross: a sativa-leaning, highly trainable structure, an intense citrus-skunk aroma and heavily frosted flowers. Lime Skunk contributes the sour brightness, while Orange Valley OG provides the gassy and earthy finish.
