Editorial profile

Clementine Kush in detail

Origin & classification

Clementine Kush combines Clementine’s pronounced citrus aroma with the resinous, spicy foundation of OG Kush. We classify the cross as a balanced hybrid whose growth and initial effects may lean slightly toward the Sativa side. The plant reaches a medium to greater height and produces conical, spear-shaped flowers with bright green calyxes, numerous orange pistils and a fine, sticky layer of resin.

Aroma & flavour

Freshly squeezed citrus fruits, sweet mandarin, orange and lemon define the first impression. Pine needles, wood, earth and a spicy Kush component follow behind. A light skunk or fuel note adds extra sharpness to the sweet fruit. In terms of flavour, the citrus side remains bright and juicy at first, before a more earthy, peppery and woody finish follows. This allows Clementine Kush to clearly express both parents rather than simply tasting like another sweet orange strain.

Terpene profile

Its effects are often described as a lively beginning with mental energy, focus and an elevated mood. This is followed by gentle physical relaxation that grounds the active opening without regularly being described as immediately strongly sedating. The exact progression remains individual and may change with tolerance, amount, phenotype and the actual cannabinoid profile. THC is stated at 19 to 24 percent; this is a possible analytical range and not a fixed level for every flower.

Effect tendency

In the garden, Clementine Kush shows somewhat greater spacing between the nodes than a typical compact Kush growth pattern. It may stretch noticeably at the beginning of flowering, which is why early training and an even canopy are helpful. The documented flowering time is eight to nine weeks or 56 to 63 days. A possible height of approximately 110 to 140 centimetres is stated, while the yield is approximately 450 to 500 grams per square metre under suitable conditions. These values remain dependent on the phenotype and growing environment.

Cannabinoids, flowering & appearance

The strain tends to be somewhat sensitive to excessive nutrient application, particularly excess nitrogen. During ripening, the flowers become denser and form sticky spears, while the aroma develops from bright orange toward deeper pine and Kush spice. Controlled temperatures and good air movement help preserve the volatile citrus aroma as well as the dense flowers. Clementine Kush is thus characterised by a clear transition: aromatically from juicy mandarin to spicy OG, and in experience descriptions from mental activity to calm physical balance.
