Easy Sativa in detail
Origin & classification
Female Seeds developed Easy Sativa specifically for straightforward outdoor cultivation. The strain is intended to justify its name through its low demands and suitability for less experienced outdoor gardeners. Its appearance is distinctly sativa-typical: long, narrow and serrated leaves accompany an open, Christmas-tree-like structure. Under suitable conditions, the plant can reach a height of approximately three metres and therefore requires plenty of space.
Aroma & flavour
A distinctive feature is its semi-automatic flowering behaviour. Sources report that many plants begin flowering under as little as 18 hours of light and can enter flowering outdoors during July. Easy Sativa should therefore not be treated like a conventional Automatic with a fixed, complete life cycle from germination. Female Seeds recommends sowing between mid-April and mid-May and advises against starting it early indoors. Premature flowering after transplanting could otherwise impair development. Long summer days and intense midsummer sun are particularly important for its potential.
Terpene profile
The open structure of the flowers is described as less susceptible to mould and also makes the strain interesting for more northern regions. At the same time, it produces large, heavy and distinctly resinous flowers. Despite this mass, the structure remains looser than that of very compact indica flowers. Flowering beginning in July can lead to a September harvest under suitable outdoor conditions. However, the tabular classification as Automatic and the stated eight-to-nine-week period only partially reflect this explicitly semi-automatic behaviour.
Effect profile
Aromatically, Easy Sativa combines a herbal base note with pine, mint and citrus. Differences between phenotypes are highlighted in the flavour: some specimens come across as spicier, while others are predominantly sweet and honey-like. The effect is also clearly described in the sources as sativa-leaning. Recurring descriptions mention a slowly developing, long-lasting experience that returns in waves and feels more cerebral, cheerful and inspiring than tiring. Such perceptions can vary from person to person; however, they complement the image of a large, sun-loving outdoor strain with a lively character.
