Editorial profile

Guayaka in detail

Origin & classification

Guayaka was created as part of the Reggae Family from a female Guayaba and a male Kalijah. For Guayaba, the source names Chem Dog, Afghan and Chem91 as its genetic background. Kalijah is described within the breeding line as an important CBD carrier. The combination was therefore intended to unite the American-influenced Guayaba clone with traits of the selected Kalijah male.

Aroma & flavour

The offspring are described as compact, thick-stemmed and easy to grow. Indoors, they stretch very little during flowering and develop comparatively few side branches. Outdoors, however, a bushier form may develop. Towards the end of the season, the plants are said to display various shades of purple, blue, red and green. This information comes from the specific breeder description and may not apply equally to every individual plant.

Terpene profile

The buds are considered very compact and resin-rich. At the same time, their structure is said to make them easy to trim. Regarding resilience, the English source uses the expression “plaque-resistant”, whose specific meaning in the cultivation context remains unclear. A precise resistance to specific pests or diseases cannot be reliably inferred from this and should therefore not be publicly claimed.

Effect tendency

Sensorically, Guayaka combines fresh roasted aromas with wood, tart fruit and strawberry. The source describes the bouquet as exceptionally dense and flavourful. The strain therefore does not have a purely tropical guava profile; instead, darker roasted and woody notes accompany sour fruit and a clearly identified strawberry facet. Individual terpenes are not specified.

Cannabinoids, flowering & appearance

The effects are characterised as stimulating and inspiring. This is a subjective description from the source, not a guaranteed response. Many plants are also said to be rich in CBD. This wording explicitly indicates that there are differences within the offspring; a high CBD level should therefore not be treated as a fixed trait of every phenotype.

Additional classification

For indoor cultivation, the breeder gives a flowering time of 50 to 60 days. Outdoors, maturity is stated as occurring between October 1 and October 15, without explaining the hemisphere again in the data block. Yield is classified only as medium. Guayaka’s reliable profile is therefore based on compact structure, resin-rich flowers, the unusual roasted-wood-fruit aroma and genetically variable CBD expression.
