P41 (Duke of Doja)

P41 by Duke of Doja is the original Gelato 41 and Afternoon Pineapple cross that Rusty created in 2022. Ryan Bartholomew and Dave from Preferred Gardens selected a plant together. This original P41 selection is distinct from a different cut later distributed under the same label and subsequently named White Taffi.

P41 (Duke of Doja): Origin and characteristics

The original cross

In 2022, Rusty, known as Duke of Doja and Duke of Erb, used an Afternoon Pineapple male to pollinate Gelato 41. Ryan Bartholomew had received the female Gelato 41 cut from Ted at Alien Labs. The resulting combination was referred to internally as P41.

A shared selection

Ryan and Dave from Preferred Gardens selected plants from the cross together. They chose one that expressed traits from both parents and had a structure suitable for flower production. Rusty’s original crossing work and the later selection by Ryan and Dave are therefore separate contributions to the history of the original P41.

Original P41 and White Taffi

A different cut was later mistakenly distributed as P41. That plant had previously circulated under the equally incorrect name Zoap. Ryan retained it for its distinctive profile and named it White Taffi. The original P41 described here remains the known cross of Gelato 41 and Afternoon Pineapple. White Taffi is a separate plant and does not inherit that ancestry.
