A healthy living soil doesn't just exist below the surface – the soil surface also plays an important role in maintaining a stable microbiome .
Our cover crop mix was specially developed for use in Living Soil pots and beds . The selected plants cover the soil, promote soil life, and continuously provide organic material for microorganisms.
This creates a natural cycle of roots, microbes and nutrients that stabilizes your soil in the long term.
Composition of the mixture
Our mixture consists of five specifically selected plant species that fulfill different functions in the soil.
White clover
A perennial, low-growing clover with strong nitrogen fixation .
It continuously supplies soil life with root exudates and stabilizes the microbial balance.
Alexandrian clover
Fast-growing clover with high biomass production .
It provides organic material and supports the activity of soil microbes.
Summer vetch
A deep-rooting legume with particularly strong nitrogen fixation .
Improves soil structure and promotes symbiotic microorganisms.
Buckwheat
An extremely fast-germinating plant that quickly forms a protective ground cover . It also mobilizes phosphorus compounds that are difficult to access in the soil.
Phacelia
A fine-rooted plant that improves soil structure and stimulates microbial life.
Advantages of Cover Crops in Living Soil
✔ Protects the floor surface from drying out
✔ Reduces compaction and improves soil structure
✔ continuously provides organic material
✔ Promotes microbes, fungi and soil organisms
✔ stabilizes the living soil ecosystem
Application
The seeds are simply scattered evenly on the surface of the soil and lightly pressed down.
Then moisten thoroughly and keep moist during the germination phase.

Recommended quantity:
approx. 4–5 g per 25 liter pot
