Frequently asked questions

Why are fungus gnats still flying?

SF nematodes treat larvae in the growing medium. Existing adult insects are not directly controlled. Yellow sticky traps can support monitoring of flying adults and are not included.

Can I store the mixture?

No. Mix immediately before application and use it all. For unopened packs, follow the storage instructions and expiry date on the packaging.

Fresh dispatch of live beneficial organisms

We prepare our beneficial organisms fresh for dispatch after your order and ship them directly from Germany.

Regular dispatch takes place from Monday to Thursday to avoid unnecessary storage time in transit.

In extremely high or low temperatures, dispatch may be postponed to protect the live organisms.

Please use the products as soon as possible after receipt, following the respective application instructions.

5 million: up to 10 m². 10 million: up to 20 m². 20 million: up to 40 m². Calculate the growing-medium surface to be treated, not the room or floor area. For pots, add their surface areas together.

Moisten the growing medium evenly beforehand. Thoroughly mix the pack contents into water according to the instructions and rinse out the packaging. Do not use hot water.

Water evenly onto the growing medium, then water in with clean water. During prolonged application, stir about every five minutes to prevent the nematodes from settling.

Use the entire mixed solution immediately. Do not store it for later. Avoid direct sunlight during application and for the following two hours.

Keep the growing medium evenly moist for 14 days afterwards. Avoid drying out and waterlogging.

Steinernema feltiae in the selected quantity: 5, 10 or 20 million nematodes for application with irrigation water. Yellow sticky traps are not included.

Temperature and storage

Growing-medium temperature: 12-32 °C. Apply as soon as possible after receipt. Refrigerate only briefly and observe the printed expiry date.

Live beneficial organisms. Apply as soon as possible after receipt. Not for consumption.

Check compatibility with previously used plant protection products, neem products, oils and sprays before application. Residues can also harm beneficial organisms. The required waiting period depends on the product used.

Keep out of reach of children. Temperature, moisture and infestation level influence treatment results.
